Isolating PVA Spray Varnish (Gustav Berger's Original Formula): high-molecular-weight polyvinyl acetate (PVA) dissolved in polar organic solvents (alcohol, acetone). It forms a soft, flexible film that isolates the original from retouching and subsequent varnishes.
- Features: non-yellowing, remains reversible in polar solvents, compatible with oil paintings and modern works
- Overcoating: accepts acrylic, aliphatic and ketone varnishes/retouching
