C.T.S. DBE («kind to the future» range): a mixture of dimethyl esters of succinic, glutaric and adipic acids. A medium-polarity solvent with a high boiling point (196–225 °C) and very low vapour pressure, with an excellent toxicological profile (LD50 >5000 mg/kg), VOC-free and fully biodegradable.
- Solubility: almost insoluble in water; partly soluble in hydrocarbons; miscible with alcohols, ketones and esters
- Uses: in gels (with thickeners) for the selective removal of overpaint, hardened films and varnishes from painted surfaces
