Uses in conservation
- Solvent for shellac, Paraloid B-72 (in mixtures), Klucel G and natural resins
- Cleaning surfaces and tools, degreasing
- Dilution in cleaning mixtures (e.g. water/ethanol) and biocide solutions
- Speeding up the drying of aqueous solutions
