Ammonium oxalate monohydrate 99.8% for the protective conversion of calcium carbonate into calcium oxalate on marble, stone and wall paintings.

Ammonium oxalate monohydrate ((NH4)2C2O4·H2O, CAS 6009-70-7) from C.T.S. Applied in poultices, it reacts with the calcite of the substrate to form a thin, insoluble, acid-resistant layer of calcium oxalate (whewellite/weddellite) – the «ammonium oxalate treatment» for protecting marble and wall paintings.

- Uses: 3–5% poultices in deionised water (with cellulose/paper pulp) for a few hours to passivate carbonate surfaces of marble, limestone and wall paintings
