ATCO – Oxygen Absorbers for Anoxic Storage and Pest Eradication

ATCO oxygen absorbers preserve oxygen-sensitive materials in an airtight container or oxygen-barrier film bag. The anoxic atmosphere slows the growth of aerobic micro-organisms and is used for pest control. For very large volumes, prior flushing with nitrogen is recommended.

• They reduce oxygen to below 0.01%; at 20 °C it reaches 0.1% in 48 hours, at 10 °C in ~72 hours, at 5 °C in ~96 hours
• FT (food): iron powder with a slight sulphur content, water and sea salt
• FTM 1000 (cultural objects): low-sulphur iron so that silver and copper do not tarnish
• ATCO BOX 250 (sulphur-free): for 250 l of air, Ø 97 × 97 mm, 700 g, in a sealed plastic bag – for anoxia of food, works of art and furniture
• Absorption raises the temperature of the enclosure up to ~42 °C and the RH up to 75% – isolate sensitive objects
