- Amylase: hydrolysis of starch pastes (starch/flour paste) on paper, textiles and paintings
- Lipase: hydrolysis of fatty and oily residues, drying oils and waxes
- Enzyme mixture: combined action on complex proteinaceous/starchy residues
- Applied in a gel (e.g. Klucel, agar) or compress, followed by rinsing/deactivation
