It can be applied by spray, brush or roller. It is often useful to warm it in a bain-marie and dissolve it in benzene at a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio. It is applied cold or hot, in which case its penetration increases. For spray application, dilution with toluene is recommended to reduce its viscosity. It is activated after the solvent has evaporated (12–24 hours) by heating to 62–65°°C, on a heated vacuum table or with a hot-air gun. For consolidating a paint layer it should be dissolved in toluene or white spirit at a 1:4 ratio and, after the solvent has evaporated, heat and light pressure applied. After application it can be removed with heat or solvents. |
