C.T.S. Nano Estel: an aqueous colloidal dispersion of nanometric silica (SiO2). As the water evaporates, the nanoparticles bond into a silica gel network that strengthens weathered stone without altering its appearance. It complements ESTEL 1000 (ethyl silicate) on damp or very porous substrates.
- Form: clear/slightly opalescent, odourless liquid; density 1.1–1.3 g/cm³
- Application: brush, spray, immersion or injection; usually diluted with deionised water; consolidation complete in 3–4 days (20 °C)
- Uses: consolidation of natural stone, fired bricks, terracotta, mortars and renders, pre-consolidation before cleaning
- Non-flammable, low toxicity, also suitable indoors
