Pacific Silvercloth is a cotton fabric in which thousands of silver particles have been embedded (impregnation with silver nitrate and precipitation of the silver into the fibres). The huge surface area of colloidal silver reacts with all gases harmful to silver before they reach the object. It releases no chemicals and does not harm other objects. The brown colour is due to the colloidal silver. Tested in museums for years.
