Activated carbon for capturing harmful gases and odours in showcase filtration systems, cupboards, boxes and packaging.
- KC10: Ø 4 mm coal pellets impregnated with NaOH (~5% alkali); chemisorption of acidic pollutants (acetic acid, SO₂); apparent density 570 ± 30 kg/m³; iodine number ≥900 mg/g. Strongly alkaline – avoid contact with skin, eyes, works of art, metals (aluminium, zinc) and sensitive surfaces.
- K48 (coconut shell): unimpregnated, steam-activated, 2.4–4.8 mm granules, internal surface area ~1100 m²/g; rapid physical adsorption; a particle filter is required downstream of the carbon
- The granules are suited to filtration systems with airflow; for still air in showcases, activated carbon cloth is preferable
- Activated carbon sachets 1 g (25×50 mm), 5 g (25×85 mm), 10 g (45×85 mm): capture odours, moisture and certain pollutants; regenerate about once a month in a dry, sunny spot for several hours
- The granules are supplied in aluminium bags
