Deoxycholic acid (C24H40O4, CAS 83-44-3) of ≥98.5% purity. Neutralised with a base (e.g. triethanolamine) in aqueous solution, it forms a bile soap – a mild anionic surfactant with good emulsifying power for greasy dirt.
